Botanical name: Caladium schomburgkii
A versatile, sun tolerant variety with colorful foliage and texture that lasts all season. Fancy red leaves have blue green edges. Perfect for garden beds and mixed containers. Grow as a perennial in temperate, frost-free regions; grow as an annual elsewhere.
Indoor Caladium plants require a medium light area with protection from midday sun, which will scorch the leaves. A northern or eastern window is usually the best exposure.
Water frequently to keep soil moist, but not soggy. Humidity is crucial to Caladium houseplant care as the tubers are native to South American tropical forests and produce seasonal foliage during the rainy, warm season. Your indoor caladiums only need a liquid fertilizer every couple of weeks.
This plant requires high maintenance.
This plant is toxic to pets.
