Silver Tree pilea has intriguing purple-brown leaves streaked with metallic silver in the center. This is an easy-to-grow house plant with colourful foliage. Best in an east facing window for medium light intensity. For best results, keep humidity constantly high and temperatures in the range of 62 to 65 F at night and up to 85 F during the day. It can be easily kept in a windowsill or lit terrarium.
In the wild Pilea Spruceana 'Silver Tree' grows as a creeping vine along the ground underneath the forest canopy. In your home it will do best in medium indirect light, and may even tolerate low light. Make sure to keep leaves from any direct sun as the they will burn.
Never allow Pilea Spruceana 'Silver Tree' to dry out completely. Water when about 1-2" of the soil has gone dry. Be mindful of the light your plant lives in, this will dictate how quickly your plant can use the water in the soil. To keep leaves from developing brown edges give your plant a source for added humidity.
Medium care. Too low humidity can cause browning leaf tips with yellow halos. Although this won't kill your specimen, you may want to increase the local moisture to prevent the new growth from adopting these symptoms. Mist or rinse the foliage from time to time and create a humidity tray whilst the heaters are active to create a stable environment for your specimen.
Safe to pets.
